Hi, My name is Clyde “Trey” Mangum III. I am a senior journalism & mass communication major at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, specializing in public relations.
I understand how important and essential effective communication is in today's society. My main interests include diversity issues, new media & pop culture, with an end goal of one day either operating entertainment publication or either doing entertainment PR.
I am the current president of the UNC Black Student Movement, one of the university's largest student organizations and the primary voice for black students on campus. I previously interned with the UNC School of Government and the Carolina Higher Education Opportunity Programs, working on social media and public relations projects. I also wrote nationally-recognized diversity columns for UNC's independent student newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel.
Most recently, I served as Social Media Intern within the Interactive Production department at McKinney in Durham, N.C., working with clients such as Travelocity and ESPN. Currently, I am a sales & marketing Account Executive with Sixth Sense Media, also in Durham, N.C. I am seeking full-time employment directly after graduation in May 2015.
My main interests include diversity, new media & pop culture, as well as binge-watching Law & Order: SVU and eating Italian cuisine.
I trust that you enjoy your stay on my site and I hope you follow me along my journey!
